Miss Garnet's Angel
Salley Vickers
Category: Fiction A colleague of mine recommended this book to me a few months ago and I finished reading it over Christmas. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted the story to go on and on. The book is the story of a middle aged spinster, Miss Garnet, who goes to stay in Venice for six months and whose life is transformed by the beauty of the place and the people she meets. Her story is interwoven with extracts from the Book of Tobit in the Apocrypha. This is a gentle and heart warming book and is very well written. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
