The Hope Centre, is an initiative of Hope in North East Cheshire.
It is based in the old Wesley Owen bookshop in Park Green, Macclesfield. It functions both as a coffee shop, and a Christian bookshop selling books, CD and other fairly traded goods. In addition to these commercial aspects is is designed to provide a beacon of hope to the people of Macclesfield.
Mission Statement The Hope Centre exists to provide a means by which the churches of Macclesfield and the surrounding area can in a practical and unimposing manner reach out to the people of the town with hope and compassion.
Cornerstone bookshop is part of Maghull Christian Centres, a charitable institution, which was formed several years ago by the Churches in the area. Cornerstone is staffed entirely by Church volunteers.
Church book stalls are supplied on favourable terms in both the local area and further afield, and a domiciliary service is provided to five
residential Homes / Sheltered Housing complexes. A mobile bookstall is available for Fetes and Shows.
It is impossible to list all the goods that we supply, but we hope that the following list will give you some idea of what is available:
Alpha Course Resources
Books for Children
Christian Crafts & Embroidery Kits
Stationery
Sunday School supplies
Mission Statement The aim of Cornerstone is for Churches to work together to provide a service and to reach out into the Community to show the love of God.
We opened our new Christian bookshop on January 27th 2001. Situated in a village just off the M4 after the Severn bridge in South Wales, we aim to make the church and our faith more accessible to our community in a friendly and non-threatening environment.
We offer Christian books, gifts, cards and music - also a range of secular products, including fine Belgian chocolate. We are especially concerned about Fair Trade, and are working on an exciting new project to produce these chocolates to Fair Trade standards.

Relocated from their former premises on Oak Street in October 2011, St Denys' Bookshop may now be found in the basement of the Manchester Cathedral Visitor Centre.
From a report on the Diocesan website:
New chapter for St Denys' Published: 03 November 2011
The basement of Manchester Cathedral Visitor Centre is now home to St Denys' Bookshop, an independent store providing theological books and church supplies run by Penny Glover and Sue Usher.
The store has just moved from Oak Street in the Northern Quarter to a location at the heart of the Christian community and, hopefully, a lot easier for people to find.
So what has been involved in the move? Packing up and transporting stock; gutting and painting the new location; moving in fittings and shelves; displaying stock in an accessible and attractive manner; ensuring that customers and suppliers know about the change of location - all to be done at one of the busiest times of the year while trying to maintain a service for as long as logistically possible...

Closure announcement posted at www.cts-manchester.org.uk:
We are sorry to announce the closure of our bookshop in Manchester city centre. As regular customers will be aware, the past few years have been a financial struggle, with the inexorable rise in the cost of renting city centre premises, and the changes which have taken place in the retail sector.
A new bookshop will be opening in the Diocese of Salford Cathedral Centre in early November. For more information, see the Diocese of Salford website.
Living Oasis Living Oasis Manchester was one of a new chain of Christian retailers in the UK which commenced operations in 2010, taking over most of the former Wesley Owen bookshops. Sadly, in early August 2011, the parent company, Nationwide Christian Trust, entered insolvency and most branches have now ceased trading.
